Financial institutions have long experience working with the private sector, and in recent years many have worked with low-income populations as well, through microfinance and other programs and services for the unbanked. They are key to the creation and expansion of projects targeting majority markets. They, along with their public and private sector partners, will access new customers and business models through their work on projects targeting the BoP.
